Talent Management Director EMEA LATAM & Western Europe Sales Area HR Lead, Tarkett

I am Ségolène Morelet and I work for Tarkett as director of talent development and talent management, and since July I coordinate the Western Europe region.

What is your background?

I began my career as a legal manager, supporting pre-sales team projects, before changing careers, training in HR, then taking roles in operational HR in construction companies, followed by a position as HR director at Icopal, then HR director for France at Tarkett, and now in a more talent management role in a more international environment at Tarkett.

What motivates you the most in this profession?

What's important to me and what makes me feel good about my job and what I'm doing is having an impact, whether with employees, managers, or solutions that will help grow the business.
I love to see how happy teams and colleagues are when we work together to crack a subject and offer solutions, solve problems, make sure that people can continue to develop and feel good about the company.
For me, it's important to have the right people on the right projects, with the right skills at the right time.

What are your main challenges?

Today's challenges revolve around change management. We're undergoing organizational changes, moving to a business unit structure, so there's a need to support teams, understand their roles, duties and responsibilities, while still providing development, career advancement and skills development within the company.
There is work to be done on culture, values, the management model and on skills development.

What is your hidden talent?

I regularly practice the shirshasana, or yoga headstand, which allows us to consider things from a quite different perspective. And I don't think I’ll demonstrate today, because I'm not fully prepared.
