Sophie Laurencin

Head of Talent, La Banque Postale

What is your role?

My role in the HR department of La Banque Postale is to support the bank’s strategy through leverage such as employer branding, diversity & inclusion, talent development, directors and career support for all. The aim is to provide each of our current and future staff members with the conditions to allow them to be personally fulfilled while contributing to the growth of a unique new civic-minded French bank.

What is your hidden talent?

Feng shui! When I was on expatriation in Singapore, I trained with a practitioner of Chinese metaphysics in several areas, including feng shui. If you need some advice to feng shui your working environment, give me a call!

What do you like the most about your job?

Innovating together. Group sessions where we set out together on a quest for new ideas and solutions are times when I really get into the flow. It’s such a pleasure to see the power of a combination of singular talents in action!

Any advice for people new to the profession?

Stay shoshin! You have to maintain a beginner’s outlook throughout your career. Don’t think that you know everything or have seen everything before. Remain open to continuously re-learning things. Stay curious about everything.
